More About Matt Cooke Jerseys
Though he might be public enemy number one in Boston after his controversial blindside hit on Marc Savard that put the superstar center out for several months, Matt Cooke is, and has been throughout his career, a very effective player.
During his time with the Vancouver Canucks, Cooke became known as one of the NHL's most aggravating pests. He worked hard at getting under the skins of his opponents, whether it was with stickwork, his hitting prowess or with his mouth. However, Cooke was far from a one-dimensional player with the Canucks. Though not blessed with a ton of offensive talent, Cooke did put up decent numbers during his time with the Canucks, usually scoring in double figures. However, with the depth of the organization, Cooke ultimately found himself the odd man out, and after a brief stop with the Washington Capitals, Cooke found a home with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he has the last 3 seasons.
In his first two full seasons with the club, Cooke proved himself an impact player, contributing on the score sheet and racking up over 100 penalty minutes in each of those campaigns. His first year with the club he was an integral part of the playoff run that ultimately saw the Penguins hoist the Stanley Cup.
Though he doesn't get a tenth of the press that Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, or even Marc-Andre Fleury do, Cooke is an immensely popular player among Penguins fans, and Matt Cooke jerseys are a hot commodity in the city of Pittsburgh right now.
