With the signing of Jay Bouwmeester and the hiring of Brent Sutter as their new coach the Calgary Flames organization has served notice that they intend to be a Stanley Cup contender in the 2009-10 season. Along with Bouwmeester the Flames will be led by veterans like Jarome Iginla, Robyn Regehr and Miikka Kiprusoff and the competitive Dion Phaneuf will look to bounce back from a sub-par year.
