One of the greatest Vancouver Canucks of all time, Markus Naslund was a dominant player for the squad during the early 2000s, when he formed the cornerstone of one of the deadliest lines in the league. During that span he, along with linemates Todd Bertuzzi and Brendan Morrison, torched opposing goaltenders. Naslund's speed, slick stickhandling and his lethal wrist shot made him the complete offensive package. That offensive ability helped him score 48 goals and record 104 points during the 2002-03 season, an achievement that saw him win the Lester B. Pearson award that year, becoming the first Canuck to ever do so.

Though Naslund would eventually move on to join the New York Rangers he will always be remembered as a Vancouver Canuck, and the fact that Markus Naslund's Canucks jersey is being retired gives mute testimony to just how much respect this talented Swedish star still commands in the city of Vancouver.
