Formerly the Hartford Whalers the Carolina Hurricanes have enjoyed their fair share of success since making the move to North Carolina in 1997. They have twice reached the Stanley Cup Finals, and in 2006 captured hockey’s ultimate prize, beating the Edmonton Oilers in a grueling 7 game series to hoist the Stanley Cup that spring.
