Wayne Gretzky Rookie Card
Considered by most fans and hockey pundits as the greatest NHL player of all time, Wayne Gretzky began rewriting the NHL record book in his first year in the league. Though he was not considered a rookie due to the fact that he had already suited up in a professional league (World Hockey Association), Gretzky set standards for a first year NHLer that haven't been matched since. That year he notched 137 points. Even Teemu Selanne's incredible rookie point total of 132 in 1992-93 falls short of Gretzky's inaugural year. He would, of course, go on to shatter dozens of NHL records, and with the quality of goaltending in today's game there is every reason to believe those amazing statistical records will stand for all time.
