Wow, then other day when I saw the video of Linus Omark's shootout goal I thought I'd seen the shootout goal of the year. Now, just days later Omark's effort has already been trumped by countryman Nicklas Lindberg. The goal was scored yesterday in a game between Lindberg's Port Huron Icehawks and the Kalamazoo Wings. However, even Lindberg's spectacular effort still couldn't propel his team to victory and the Icehawks lost. Do these Swedish players have a bet going to see who can score the nicest shootout goal? Amazing stuff...

Sidney Crosby is starting to make quite the name for himself as a scrapper. Earlier this year he jumped Florida's Brett McLean at the faceoff dot to earn his first fighting major of the year, and now he has doubled his total after tangling with Florida's Keith Ballard today.

Ballard absolutely leveled Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin with a clean hipcheck that resulted in Malkin flipping end over end through the air. Crosby came rushing to his teammate's aid and dropped the mitts with Ballard, who seems to have to defend himself by fighting every time he delivers a clean check.

Nashville's Jordin Tootoo is one tough customer, but he was definitely one the receiving end of a beatdown last night when his Predators faced the San Jose Sharks. Tootoo managed to get a couple of shots in early, but then Staubitz got in a rhythm and started feeding Tootoo a steady diet of left hands. You've got to credit Tootoo though. He stood in there and took his lumps. Still, he might want to think about playing a little defense once in a while. He came out of the fight looking pretty bruised and bloodied. Did you miss the highlight from last night? Check out the hockey fight video of Jordin Tootoo vs. Brad Staubitz below:
