2012 Jaromir Jagr Winter Classic Jersey
One of the greatest superstars the game has ever seen, Jaromir Jagr was a force to be reckoned with while plying his trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins throughout the 90s. In the prime of his career he was a talent only slightly below the likes of Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky, and his size, speed and tremendous stickhandling skills helped him nab 5 Art Ross Trophies as the NHL's leading scorer between 1995 and 2001.
However, after Jagr left Pittsburgh following the 2000-01 season the moody superstar's career went off the rails a little bit. Most hockey fans deemed his tenure with the Washington Capitals to be a failure despite the fact that he averaged between than a point per game over three seasons there. From there he moved to the New York Rangers, and in his first full season with the club it appeared the old Jagr was back as he put up whopping totals of 54 goals and 123 points. The honeymoon was over swiftly however, and Jagr's offensive output dipped to just 71 points just two seasons later.
That looked to be the end of Jagr's NHL career. From there he moved to Russia's KHL, laboring for three seasons with Omsk Avengard. In the end Jagr couldn't ignore the NHL spotlight, and in the off-season before the 2011-12 season he surprised the hockey world by signing with the Philadelphia Flyers, the longtime bitter rival of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the team most thought he would return to.
Jagr has been dynamite so far. Playing on a line with Claude Giroux he has turned back the clock, and while he might not be the same player he was at his peak in the 90s he certainly bears little resemblance to most grizzled 39 year old vets. With 30 points in just 31 games he is third in team scoring and has proven that GM Paul Holmgren made a wise move signing him.
