With last night's ridiculous shootout goal against Switzerland Linus Omark really captured the attention of the hockey world. Omark skated in, faked the shot as he cut across the net, and calmly flipped the puck over the sprawled Swiss goalie as he cruised by. The move was similar to one of Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk's signature moves, and though Omark might have some work to do if he wants to be known as the world class dangler Datsyuk is he is certainly putting some spectacular highlight goals on his resume. Among Omark's other gems are a between the legs goal, and another cheeky play where he picked the puck up on his stick behind the net then flipped it off the goalie's back and in the net.

Linus Omark currently plays for Lulea HF in the Swedish Elite League, and is property of the Edmonton Oilers who selected him in the 4th round in the 2007 NHL draft.

Mike Ribeiro was dipping into his bag of tricks again tonight, pulling off a cheeky between the legs goal tonight against the Florida Panthers. In tight, with no angle to beat the goalie he showed his incredible hands by pulling the puck back between his legs to get some daylight then popped the puck up and over Craig Anderson. Unfortunately, Ribeiro's goal was just about the only bright spot for Dallas tonight as they were spanked 6-3 by the Panthers.

Alexander Ovechkin boldly told TSN's Pierre Maguire before the start of tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens that he would not be stopped. It seems the Great 8 is something of a prophet as he scored one of the most incredible goals of the NHL season with a dynamic spin move off the boards to beat Roman Hamrlik. Ovechkin followed up the move by driving powerfully to the net, out-muscling Kyle Chipchura before finally shoveling the puck into the short side while lying on his back! The goal was reminiscent of the spectacular tally he potted against Phoenix a few years ago, and was Ovechkin's 11th in his last 9 games, and 42nd of the season. Though he might trail countryman Evgeni Malkin in points there can be little question that Ovechkin has to be the favorite to win a second straight Hart trophy as NHL MVP.
