Funny Hockey Video - Tuukka Rask Loses His Mind After Shootout Loss

March 23rd, 2009 admin Posted in hockey bloopers, hockey videos No Comments »

Just a little humor to lighten your otherwise dreary Monday morning. This video footage comes from a game that took place this past Saturday between Rask's Providence Bruins and the Albany River Rats. The game went to a shootout that culminated in a River Rats victory and a Tuukka Rask meltdown. When Albany shooter Jakub Petruzalek skated in, lost control of the puck, sauntered over to collect it again, paused for a second and then finally fired the puck past Rask you could tell that Rask was stunned and upset that the ref called it a good goal. Things went from bad to worse for Rask when Albany's Harrison Reed came in and fired the puck upstairs. The puck came out so fast that Rask thought it hit the crossbar. When the ref again called it a good goal, Rask went off slamming his stick into the boards, then hurling it across the ice. He wasn't quite done though. He then proceeded down the player's tunnel where he found a milk crate. Rask grabbed the milk crate and threw it onto the ice as well before finally making his exit.

Hockey Bloopers Video - Dennis Wideman Shootout Attempt

Haven't had a good hockey blooper video in a while, so I thought I'd dig into the archives and see what I could come up with. This Dennis Wideman shootout attempt is a classic hockey blooper, and I can watch it 100 times in a row and laugh every time. The reaction of the announcers is priceless as well, especially the Ya-Ho at the 9 second mark. Enjoy this hockey blooper video of Dennis Wideman completely muffing a shootout attempt:

Bizarre Hockey Video - Jarkko Ruutu Bites Andrew Peters

January 6th, 2009 admin Posted in Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, hockey bloopers, hockey videos No Comments »

There have been some strange incidents in the NHL in the past few days. First we see Sidney Crosby jump Brett McLean, then we witness Alexander Semin try and play the bongos on Marc Staal's face. However, not to be outdone, superpest Jarkko Ruutu was involved in an even more bizarre incident tonight as his Senators faced the Sabres. Ruutu apparently took exception to Andrew Peters giving him a facewash, so he chomped down on Peters' hand. Peters still had his glove on, but apparently Jarkko bit down hard because you can see the surprise and pain on Peters' face, and he immediately drops the glove and wrings his hand.

Peters was interviewed about the biting incident after the game, and was justifiably irked, stating that he hadn't seen anything like that since the Tyson Holyfield fight, and that the league would be looking at the incident.

As for Ruutu, who knows what was going on in his head. Was the bite purely reactionary, or is he trying to fill the shoes of Sean Avery as the NHL's new most hated player? At least Ruutu keeps his shenanigans on the ice, but if he keeps pulling stunts like this one it won't be long before the NHL's disciplinarians straighten him out.
